AJHL GIVES TEAMS OK TO START EXHIBITION PLAY

For the first time since last March the Grande Prairie Storm will see some actual game action in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

The league has announced it has set up seven different two-team cohort setups for exhibition games and included will be the Storm.

Grande Prairie will be taking on the Whitecourt Wolverines in its cohort exhibition series with games planned for both Grande Prairie and Whitecourt.

The games will start the weekend of Oct. 9-10.

The full Storm exhibition preliminary schedule along with details regarding fan access, facility regulations and safety measures will be announced Friday.

The 2020 AJHL Exhibition Season will be broadcast on HockeyTV.com.  Annual Passes are now available to AJHL fans at an $80 discount – check your local team’s website over the coming days for more information!

For now the league is restricted to two-team cohort groups under the regulations set by the Government of Alberta.

Other cohort groups are:

  • Drumheller Dragons vs Camrose Kodiaks

  • Brooks Bandits vs Okotoks Oilers

  • Calgary Canucks vs Olds Grizzlys

  • Spruce Grove Saints vs Drayton Valley Thunder

  • Sherwood Park Crusaders vs Lloydminster Bobcats

  • Bonnyville Pontiacs vs Fort McMurray Oil Barons

The Canmore Eagles are the only team not in a cohort group at this point.

In preparation for the exhibition season starting, the Storm will be holding a full-fledged intrasquad game on Friday at 1:45 p.m. in Revolution Arena.

Anyone interested in taking in the game can purchase a $5 ticket at the Revolution Place Box Office. There is a limit of 100 people allowed in the arena for the game.
