Baskerville Bashes Kodiaks

Some nights it's easier than others to pick the star of the game.  Thursday night in Camrose, it was a cinch—Ryan Baskerville.

The Storm forward was simply the difference in the contest, as Grande Prairie edged the hometown Kodiaks 3-2 in a shoot out.  Baskerville's second goal of the game, about seven and a half minutes into the third period, tied things up and sent it into overtime.

After a scoreless extra period, a shoot out was required and once again, it was Baskerville to the rescue.  As the third shooter, he scored the decisive goal to give the Storm the extra point in the contest.

Storm are now 6-6 on the season and 2-0 in extra time games.  They also won in a shoot out a few weeks ago in Whitecourt.

Neither team was able to score on the powerplay; Grande Prairie going 0-for-5 and Camrose 0-for-6.  Storm powerplay remains last-ranked in the AJHL, with just five goals in 55 opportunities.

Game two in the three-game road trip goes Friday night in Drayton Valley.  The final contest is Saturday in Whitecourt.
