Carter Rowney Wins the Stanley Cup!

Storm alumnus and Sexsmith, AB product Carter Rowney has won the Stanley Cup in his first NHL season!

Rowney, who grew up in Sexsmith, played through the GPAC system before joining the Storm for three seasons (2006-09).  During his time with the Storm, Rowney tallied 129 points in 157 games.  Rowney was also a part of the 2009 AJHL Championship winning team and was awarded as the AJHL Playoff MVP.

After his time with the Storm, Rowney went on to play four seasons with the North Dakota Fighting Soiux in the NCAA before starting his pro career.  Working his way through the ECHL to the AHL and finally to the NHL, Rowney has just won the ultimate prize!

The Storm expect Rowney at this summer's Alumni Weekend on Aug 18th & 19th. The entire Storm organization couldn't be happier for Carter and his family and can't wait to see the Cup back in Grande Prairie!
