CORN MAZE STORM LOGO

This may sound corny, but no matter what happens this season the Grande Prairie Storm will be getting off to an a-maze-ing start!

The Storm logo is the design for the annual Country Roads RV Park Corn Maze.

“This could be a first for a junior hockey club . . . or perhaps any hockey team,” said Storm business manager Don Moon. “I have never seen a hockey team logo being used for a maze. We are honored to have the Storm logo chosen for the maze this year.”

The corn maze opened on August 10. It is located west of the Four Mile Corner north on Hwy. 2 and then west on Hwy. 43.

Customers who visit the maze will be eligible to win Storm prizes including tickets to the team's home opener weekend Sept. 14-15.

Admission is $10 for those 13 and over; $8 for six to 12 year olds; and free to those five and under. A family of four can attend for $35 ($5 for each extra family member).

Coupons are also available at www.cornfieldmaze.com and are only good for general admission and cannot be combined with any other offer.

August hours are Monday to Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday 1-6 p.m. September hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4-8 p.m.; Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday 1-6 p.m.

On Labour Day a Food Bank and Salvation Army Soup Kitchen collection will be made. Bring an item of food and get $1 off admission for each item of food.

FAQ's
Q: How long will it take me to go through the maze?
A: There's no time limit but it should take about 1-2 hours to go through the maze, depending on who your following. So plan to spend about 2 hours or more at the maze.

Q: How should we dress for the maze?
A: The maze is located in an open corn field so we suggest that you dress appropriately for the temperature and wear good comfortable walking shoes. Our trails are bumpy and you need to be careful when walking. Smaller children may appreciate a ride in a wagon. Use backpacks instead of strollers for babies and toddlers, or heavy duty strollers with big wheels. Insect repellent might be a good idea too.

Q: Do you have Restrooms?
A: Yes, we also have snacks and drinks and Ice Cream.

Q: Where can I get a coupon?
A: Go to www.cornfieldmaze.com or click here.

Q: What types of payment do you accept?
A: At this time we can only accept cash / Debit payments, but we will accept checks for large groups.

Q: Are pets allowed in the maze?
A: We are sorry, but pets must be left at home. Of course, service animals are always allowed.

Q: Does the maze ever close due to weather?
A: The Maze is only open weather permitting. Muddy ground conditions after rain storms could force it to stay closed even after the rain has stopped. Please call if you question the weather in our area.

Q: Can I get lost in the maze and not be found?
A: No, during busy times we will have corn cops stationed in the maze. They are instructed not to help, but when you say “I GIVE UP”, then they will show you the right way to continue on through the maze. Or you can call me on your cell phone.

Q: Why can't I drink alcoholic beverages in the maze?
A: Because this is an alcohol free event. Folks, you need all of your full senses to go through the maze!

Q: Why can't I smoke in the maze?
A: Because smoking in the maze is a fire hazard and a fire marshal would shut us down if we let people smoke in the maze.

Q: How do you play the maze game?
A: In the maze there are 12 stations that you must find, plus one bonus station. if you find them all come back to the office and show us where the bonus is and put your name in for our draws for great prizes.

Q: How did you make the maze?
A: We hired a fantastic group of little green men that worked very hard at night to make the design in the corn field, they were out of this world.
