When the Grande Prairie Storm host the Sherwood Park Crusaders on Dec. 1 it will be the fifth time in 2 1/2 weeks the two Alberta Junior Hockey League teams have tangled.
In the first three games of the series the Crusaders have a 2-1 edge including a 6-2 victory at home on Friday night.
The loss was the team's fourth in a row including the first three of a four-game road stretch that winds up in Spruce Grove against the Saints on Saturday.
The team's recent misfortune hasn't changed their standing in the North Division of the AJHL.
The Storm still hold onto fourth place with 29 points, but the Bonnyville Pontiacs and Crusaders are making it interesting.
Bonnyville is just three back and the Crusaders five. The Saints, in third, are nine up on the Storm.
On Friday Edouard Michaud and Dallas Comeau (shorthanded) netted the Storm goals. Dylan Stewart had two and Garrett Clegg, William Zapernick, Jacob Franczek and Eric Blanchette singles for the Crusaders.
The Crusaders led 2-1 after the first and 4-1 going into the third.
Storm goaltender Charles-Olivier Levesque and Crusader puck-stopper Brandon Vogel each looked at 28 shots.
The Storm host the Crusaders twice next week with the first game Thursday and the second on Friday. Both at 7:30 p.m. in Revolution Arena.
