Eagles Soar past Storm

Pretty much the same script—only in reverse.  Wednesday, the Grande Prairie Storm broke out to a 5-0 lead in Brooks and then held on the beat the Bandits 6-5.  Friday, the Storm fell behind 5-1 in Canmore before rallying to within one goal, only to eventually lose 7-4.

Eagles raced out to a 4-1 lead through twenty minutes and extended that when they scored just before the midway mark of the game.  Storm would respond with a pair of scores later in the second and one early in the third, but that was as close as they got.  Eagles sealing the win with two more tallies, including the last one into an empty net.

Dylan Thudium, Jordan McTaggart, Jade McMullen and Toby Shattler had the goals for Grande Prairie, which once again fall below the 500 mark on the season, at 12-13-2.

Nick Kulmanovsky got the start in goal for the Storm, but was pulled at the 9:04 mark of the second period, after surrendering five goals on the fifteen shots he faced.  Jacob Suppes looked solid in relief, giving up just one goal on the fifteen Canmore shots fired his way.

Storm are now 1-1-1 on their four game road trip.  It wraps up Saturday night in Calgary, against the Canucks.
