Whatever you can do, we can do the same!
That seems to be the mantra of both the Grande Prairie Storm and Sherwood Park Crusaders.
The two teams are battling for fourth place in the North (the Storm have a three-point lead and a game in hand) with less than a month remaining on the regular season schedule.
Over the last 10 games for each the Storm have earned eight points and the Crusaders six.
Both teams had a bit of a rough weekend.
The Storm lost twice to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in the oilsands city including 3-1 on Sunday. The Crusaders lost three on a south swing including 7-5 to the Calgary Mustangs on Saturday.
Both teams have six home games remaining while the Storm have five on the road and the Crusaders four.
Going to be a fun run to the finish!
Sunday wasn't that much fun for the Storm – though they did put up a better fight than Saturday when they fell 7-3.
They were in this one from the start, falling behind 1-0 in the first and 2-1 after two.
Connor Blake netted the lone Storm goal while Coy Prevost, J.C. Thivierge and Merritt Oszytko scored for the MOB.
Veteran Charles-Olivier Levesque went the distance in the Storm net looking at 31 shots while the Storm fired 29 pucks at Chris Curr at the other end.
The Storm continue their road trip on the weekend with games in Okotoks against the Oilers Friday and Calgary against the Canucks on Saturday.
It's home, sweet home on Wednesday, Feb. 14 when the Bonnyville Pontiacs visit. Friday, Feb. 16 the Brooks Bandits are in GP to face the Storm.
