The Grande Prairie Storm is proud to announce the 05 D and assistant captain Matthew Gillard has committed to the NAIT Ooks for the 26-27 season. Gillard has suited up for 71 games in a Storm jersey, and has been a force on the blue line each time. During the 24-25 season, he was selected as an assistant captain on the Team Canada West team at the World Junior A Challenge.
Head Coach Chris Schmidt said, “As soon as Matthew arrived in Grande Prairie in 2024, his passion for the game was fully evident. The way he competes every practice, workout, and game has helped our organization tremendously. His willingness to do whatever it takes to help his team win is unmatched. I can not say how fortunate NAIT is to have him join their team next year.”
