HOCKEY 101 FOR LADIES

The Storm hockey team will be catering to the ladies again this year.

Storm Hockey 101 kicked off  last year when groups of ladies gathered to enjoy Storm hockey in the Canada Games Arena.

The Storm Hockey 101 package includes tickets to the game, food and beverages and use of a secondary sky suite in the Canada Games Arena.

“I had a phone call from a lady who is part of a ladies group and she was looking to bring them to a Storm game,” said Storm business manager Don Moon. “That conversation was the catalyst to organizing Storm Hockey 101.”

The team provides the tickets, the Crystal Centre provides the secondary sky suite area at the top of Section G and Crystal Catering provides the food and beverages.

“For the ladies who know little about hockey we help them out in that area,” said Moon.

The team has a 14-page Storm Hockey 101 booklet outlining the history of hockey, the Storm, referee signals and some of the basic rules of the game.

“One of our staff will meet the ladies and take them up to the secondary sky suite and give them a 10 minute talk on hockey,” said Moon. “He is also made available in case they have any questions between periods.”

The groups can be as small as six people or 20 or more. Anyone interested in being involved in Storm Hockey 101 can contact Moon at the Storm office at 780-538-4919.
