It’s Over

Turn out the lights, the party's over.

Grande Prairie Storm are now officially eliminated from the AJHL playoff picture, after losing 3-1 Friday evening in Lloydminster.  It marks the first time in club history that the Storm will fail to make it to post season play.

Storm hung in with the third best team in the North Division for most of the night, but gave up a pair of late goals to end up going down to defeat.  Ian McLellan had tied the game for Grande Prairie with a goal in the final minute of the second period, after the Bobcats had broken the ice earlier in the middle frame.

Storm still have one game to play on the road trip, Saturday in Bonnyville.  They return home for their final game of the 2013-14 campaign next Saturday, when they host Sherwood Park.  That will be fan appreciation night and also a chance for the team and fans to bid adieu to the six twenty year olds on the squad who are graduating from junior hockey.
