GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB – The Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are proud to announce that 2002-born forward, Nathan Morgan (Calgary, AB), has committed to Union College, an NCAA D1 school located in Schenectady, NY.

The Dutchmen play in the NCAA?s Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference under veteran Head Coach Rick Bennett. Bennett is a 2-time NCAA coach of the year and guided the Dutchmen to an NCAA Championship in 2014.

Morgan, at the young age of 17, currently sits tied for second among Storm scorers with (9 goals, 7 assists) in 29 games played.

Storm Head Coach & Associate General Manager Matt Keillor spoke about Morgan?s development over the past year.  ?Morgan worked incredibly hard over the summer in Calgary. He won three out of four fitness testing events at main camp and it was evident he was ready to make an impact right away. He wants to get better every day and has taken his development very seriously since his first day with the Storm.”

“Our covenant has a saying ‘Know Thyself; the real competition is with yourself when it comes to developing as a player’.  His commitment to Union College is a testament of his dedication to the game of hockey and to his own work ethic.?

The Storm would like to congratulate Nathan and his family on his achievement and can?t wait to see his continued development both on and off the ice.
