Well, at least there's one team named Oilers in Alberta that knows how to win.
Okotoks Oilers dumping the Grande Prairie Storm for the second time in a week, winning 5-2 Friday night in the southern Alberta city. Last Saturday, Okotoks shaded the Storm 2-1 at the Canada Games Arena.
This one was really decided in the first ten and a half minutes of the game. By that time, it was already 4-0 for the home side. Stephen Doane would score later in the first and Riley Van Horne would get another for the Storm in the third, but they never seriously threatened to get back in the contest.
Grande Prairie is now five games under 500 for the first time all year and clinging to a playoff spot. Sixth place Bonnyville is two points back and seventh place Drayton Valley is four off the pace…and both of those clubs hold a game in hand on the Storm.
Storm have one more game before the Christmas break. They're in Calgary to face the Mustangs in a Sunday afternoon tilt.
