RECAP Game 12: Storm Streak Ends at Five

The Storm fell short of extending their winning streak to 6 games after falling 3-2 to the Brooks Bandits in overtime. Coming in on a win streak of 8 games of their own, the Bandits would open up the scoring at 5:27 in the first period. The Bandits would consistently outshoot the Storm, and got off to a strong start outshooting the Storm 15-7 in the first period. Lane woud continue to give the Storm a fighting chance, stopping 16 shots in the second period, and 30 of 31 shots through 2 periods. The Storm would tie the game up early at 1:09 in the 3rd period on the powerplay, Okabe (9) from Nordstrom and Webb. The Bandits would retake the lead at 7:04 in the third period, but the Storm would respond at 15:52 in the third period: Cunningham (2) from Nordstrom and Okabe.

 

The Storm would come from behind and force overtime for a second straight game, but would not come out on the winning side this time. The Bandits would score at 2:55 into overtime to send the Storm away with only one point.

 

Your Storm finish off their 3 game road trip back in Calgary tomorrow night against the Calgary Canucks, and return to play at home on October 19th against the same Canucks.
