RECAP Game 5: Storm Lose a Tight Match

The Grande Prairie Storm hosted the Whitecourt Wolverines in a close match Tuesday night at Revolution Place. After Okabe got dinged with a 10 minute Pre-Game Violation Misconduct, the first period would end scoreless. The Wolverines would open up the scoring and take a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermssion. The Wolverines would double their lead a few minutes into the second on a tipped shot off the rush that handcuffed goaltender Kaeden Lane.The Storm would cut the deficit by one after Morgan's (1) first AJHL goal, assisted by Hader at 5:06 in the second period. Captain Connor Blake would exit amidst the Storm's final push after getting a high stick in the mouth and would not return. The Wolverines would ice the game with 2 seconds remaining, on an empty net goal. Final shots would end up 26-23 in favour of the Whitecourt Wolverines.

The Storm take to the road over the weekend at the annual AJHL Showcase and take on the Camrose Kodiaks and Olds Grizzlys on Friday and Saturday.
