SIGNING: Storm Sign All-State Michigan Forward

The Grande Prairie Storm's incredibly strong recruiting class continues to grow. The Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are excited to announce the signing of 2000-born forward Alex Nordstrom. Nordstrom joins the Storm after an incredible High School Hockey career with his hometown Hancock Central High Bulldogs located in Hancock, Michigan. Nordstrom is coming off an impressive junior season where he collected 33 goals and 28 assists in only 25 games. Alex was named a first team All-State forward for the 2018 season, and the Michigan High School product leaves Hancock Central as its All-time leading Scorer with 170 points in 80 games.

Head Coach & Associate General Manager, Matt Keillor, was quick to give the credit to another member of his staff:

“I have to give a lot of credit to Blake Cosgrove. Having played 5 years at Northern Michigan, he knew the specific skill set we were looking for, and Nordstrom’s name came up right away. We cut hours of video and it was clear he was a great player but it was his character that stood out the most. Everyone we spoke to had nothing but great things to say. When I spoke to one of his coaches, they informed me that Alex is the oldest of 10 brothers and sisters. That kind of family situation forces Alex to be a role model for his siblings, and encourages him to set an example with his work ethic, integrity, and responsibility. It is imperative that we have a locker room built on accountbility, so we put a premium on having guys in our room that exhibit the culture we are trying to build.”

Fans are in for some exciting hockey this season and will have the opportunity to see Alex for the first time when main camp officially begins August 24th at Revolution Place. Stop by Revolution or check out our website for season ticket information.
