Skid Hits Four

Four games.  Four goals.  Four losses.  Zero points.

That sums up the last ten days for the Grande Prairie Storm, after they fell 3-1 Wednesday night in Spruce Grove.  Storm lost all four road games during that span and scored a grand total of four goals over 240 minutes of play.

Against the Saints, things actually started well for Grande Prairie.  Allan MacPherson scored just over ten minutes into the contest on a powerplay to give the Storm their first lead in any of the games in the last week and a half.

That would be it for the offence, though.  Saints tied things up with just four seconds left in the first period and then tallied twice in the second to take the lead for good.

Despite the loss, Nick Kulmanovsky shone between the pipes.  He was named the Storm player of the game, blocking 39 of the 42 shots he faced on the evening.

Grande Prairie is now three games under the 500 mark, at 8-11-1 for the season.  While they lead Drayton Valley by five points for the final playoff spot, the Thunder now have two games in hand.

Storm now return home for games this Friday against Camrose and Saturday versus Drumheller.  Game time both nights at the Canada Games Arena is 7:30.
