STORM ACQUIRE DEFENCEMAN

 

The Grande Prairie Storm have added to their defensive corps for the coming Alberta Junior Hockey League season.

Storm Head Coach/General Manager Mike Vandekamp announced today the Storm have acquired defenceman Cameron Vassos from the Collingwood Colts of the Junior A Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Vassos, who was drafted by the Kitchener Rangers of the Major Junior Ontario Hockey League in 2018, is 18 years old and stands six feet tall while weighing 176 pounds.

As a 17-year-old he played 41 games for the Colts last season scoring four goals and adding 10 assists and spent 18 minutes in the penalty box.

The Caledon, ON native played U16AA with the Toronto Nationals and U18AAA with the Vaughan Kings.

Vassos was acquired for future considerations.

The Storm welcomes Cameron to the team and the City of Grande Prairie.
