Storm Add Size, Experience To Defence

The Grande Prairie Storm have added some experience and size to their blueline.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League team has acquired defenceman Kurtis Rutledge in a trade with the Flin Flon Bombers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

Going to the Bombers is defenceman Alex Lindstrom. The Boise, ID native had played in 26 games over two seasons with the Storm.

Rutledge, a Calgary native, is 6-foot-2 and 203 pounds. The 20-year-old comes to the Storm with a wealth of experience including 124 games in the Western Hockey League with the Tri City Americans and Kootenay Ice.

He had played in 12 games with the Bombers this year scoring three goals, assisting three times and taking 68 minutes in penalties.

The Storm return to the ice for a pair of home games this week – Thursday and Friday against the Sherwood Park Crusaders. Start time for both is 7:30 p.m.
