Storm Add Veteran Blue-Liner

Grande Prairie Storm Announce Acquisition of Defenceman William Haley

The Grande Prairie Storm are pleased to announce the acquisition of 20 year old defenceman William Haley from the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL) for a player development fee.

Haley, a 2005-born defenceman from Cobourg, Ontario, brings a strong blend of size, discipline, and experience to the Storm’s blue line. The 6’1”,  left-shot defender has competed at multiple levels of elite junior hockey, including the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Mississauga Steelheads, Peterborough Petes, and Guelph Storm. His background also includes time in the OJHL with the Pickering Panthers and most recently in the NOJHL with Greater Sudbury Cubs. Sudbury was the NOJHL representative in the 2025 Centennial Cup last year in Calgary.

“We are pleased to welcome Will to the organization,” said the Storm’s GM Mark Bomersback. “He is a poised, defensively responsible veteran  who has developed within several high-caliber programs. His experience and maturity will strengthen our defensive group and contribute positively to our team structure”.

The Grande Prairie Storm extend a warm welcome to Will and his family, as he joins the organization and the community.
