Awards were handed out for the Grande Prairie Storm on March 15.
The team banquet was held three days after the Storm were eliminated in the first round of the AJHL playoffs against the Whitecourt Wolverines.
Hines Creek product Dolan Bjornson received multiple awards.
The 21-year-old, who played his final junior A hockey season, was named co-recipient of the Unsung Hero Award, Rookie of the Year co-recipient and Playoff Performer.
Bjornson finished the season with 12 goals and nine assists. In the team’s three-game series against the Wolverines, Bjornson had a goal and an assist.
Michael Clarke, a 18-year-old forward who led the Storm in regular season scoring, was awarded Top Forward and MVP.
Clarke scored 31 goals and added 31 assists this season to lead the team with 61 points. His point tally is the most points by a Storm player since Dan Correale and Tanner Fritz notched 70 and 74 points, respectively, in 2010-2011.
Brendan Kallis, a 19-year-old defenceman, was named Top Defenceman. The St. Albert product notched two goals and 20 assists.
In addition to Bjornson, forward Parker Smyth was the other recipient of the Rookie of the Year Award. Smyth, 18, was dealt to the Storm early in the season from the Spruce Grove Saints and notched 10 goals and 15 assists.
