Storm Prepare for Home Opener

Storm prepare for Home Opener

After a disappointing first 2 games last weekend the Storm look to rebound in front of the home crowd this weekend versus the Drayton Valley Thunder. The team has had a good week of practice and are prepared for the important first 2 games of the season at Revolution Place. In advance of the games this weekend the Storm have added 2 players to their roster. 18 year old D-man Jason Wenzel joins the Storm from the Kootenay Ice and 18 year old Forward Jake Elmer returns from the Regina Pats. This weekend will also be the first opportunity for Storm Fans to see 19 year old forward Colby Tower who joined the team from the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL.

Coach / GM Kevin Higo: “We are excited to add both Jason and Jake to our line up and hope to have both players dressed on Friday for the home opener. Jake was with us for the last 20 games in 2015/2016 and created offense. He will add skill and speed to the line up and has added more weight which will make him harder to play against. Jason has played a full season in the WHL and is a solid all around D-man that will be a great addition to the blue line. Jason joined us for practice on Wednesday and will have another practice to get comfortable with the team. Colby played last weekend in Fort Mac but was ejected in the first game due to being in a fight. He plays with a ton of energy and has offensive skill.”
