Storm Still Alive

The odds are still ridiculously long, but the Grande Prairie Storm remain in the chase for the final playoff spot in the AJHL North.

Jade McMullen scoring three times, as the Storm doubled up on the Crusaders 6-3 Wednesday night in Sherwood Park.  Nick Kulmanovsky also sparkled between the pipes, kicking out 50 of the 53 shots he faced, including 26 in the third period.

Dylan Thudium, Jordan McTaggart and Ryan Baskerville also scored for the Storm, who are now five points behind Drayton Valley for the seventh and final playoff spot in the North.  The Thunder could have clinched their berth, but fell 2-1 at home to Fort McMurray.

Still, for the Storm to make the playoffs, they would have to win their last three and hope the Thunder lose all five games they have remaining.  Grande Prairie continues its road trip Friday night in Lloydminster.
