UPDATE: #SaveOurStorm Campaign

The first week has been largely successful, drawing numerous online donations, volunteers, sponsors, and investors to the Grande Prairie Storm's call for immediate financial support.

INVESTORS: Over a dozen groups and individuals have stepped up and shown interest in investing to keep the Storm in Grande Prairie. The discussions to date have been very positive, and the organization continues to work toward eventual investment from these potential investors. Several potential scenarios for investment are actively under discussion, and it is felt an eventual agreement will be completed to keep the Storm in Grande Prairie.

Quote: “With the local groups that have come forward with an interest in investing, there is no doubt in my mind that this organization will stay in this community long term, and once again become a stable force in the AJHL.” – Chris Luhtala, President, Swan City Hockey Association

SPONSORSHIPS: Several potential sponsors have come forward. Proposed sponsorships are now being discussed with these sponsors who are both new to the Storm as well as from the current sponsorship pool.

ONLINE CAMPAIGN: Nearly $8,000 has been raised in the online campaign, with an additional $11,000 from Big Country XX 93.1FM radio. Online donations can be made here.

VOLUNTEERS: A number of people have stepped forward and are already assigned to tasks helping with this campaign, while others have offered fundraising ideas, many of which the Storm have already begun to research further. The organization continues to seek volunteers to help with the campaign, and on game days (mascot, entertainment crew, etc.)
