McMullen Commits To RIT Tigers

The Grande Prairie Storm are pleased to announce that 19 year old forward Jade McMullen has committed to the NCAA Division 1 RIT Tigers of the Atlantic Hockey Association.

Jade has been a member of the Storm for three years and is having a breakout year with 14 goals and 10 assists in 24 games. He currently sits 8th in AJHL scoring and is 3rd in goals and 3rd in power play goals. He is an assistant captain on a young team and has become a leader this year for the Storm.

Storm Coach Kevin Higo, “This is my first year with Jade, but even in the short time I have known him he has taken strides forward as a player and person. He plays a complete game on the ice and is able to contribute in all 3 zones. He has worked hard this year in practice and he is taking advantage of his opportunities in the games.”

Jade follows a list of Storm players that achieved their academic and hockey goals by attending NCAA schools. That list includes the likes of Mike Lefley (Nebraska/Omaha), Dustin Sather (Alaska/Fairbanks), and Mark Malekoff (Michigan Tech) to name a few.

The Storm organization would like to congratulate Jade and his family on this accomplishment.
