The Grande Prairie Storm is a community owned, non-profit organization that has a rich history in Grande Prairie and the surrounding area. As the only junior A hockey club in the Peace Country, the Storm plays an important role in promoting the sport of hockey, showcasing all our region has to offer, and bringing the community together all season long.
The team is committed to not only being a competitive force on the ice, but also to being active in the community and representing the Peace Country with pride. The Storm has a strong tradition of supporting youth hockey development through camps and clinics, and by partnering with local organizations to provide opportunities for young players to improve their skills and pursue their hockey dreams.
The Storm has a record of success in the AJHL, having won the league championship twice in their history (in 2004 and 2009). The team has also had many players go on to play college hockey in both Canada and the United States, as well as professional hockey in North America and overseas.
This success is in large part due to the passionate and dedicated support of the community. The Storm is grateful for the continued support of fans, sponsors, and volunteers, who have been a vital part of the team’s success since its inception. With their unwavering support, the Grande Prairie Storm is poised for a bright future as a cornerstone of the Peace Country’s vibrant hockey culture.
