STORM AND PORTAGE SWAP DEFENSEMAN

The Grande Prairie Storm and the Portage Terriers of the MJHL have completed a trade that sees the Storm send D-man Simon Desrosiers and future considerations to the Terriers in exchange for D-Man Braeden Jones.
Jones (94) is a 6’1” 190lb product of Edmonton who has spent the last two years in the BCJHL before being acquired by Portage earlier this season. He recorded 4 assists and 39 pim’s in 16 games with the Terriers.
“Braeden is a player I’m very familiar with, and had been looking for a way to get him in a Storm uniform” said Head Coach Matt Hughes. “He’s a big strong right shot defenseman that will be a valuable addition to the team both this year and next, and with the return of Drew Nikirk from injury, it makes us that much tougher to play against.”
“We do want to wish Simon the best of luck, he’s been a great teammate in his time in GP”
Jones is expected to be in the lineup when the Storm host the Drayton Valley Thunder tomorrow night. This game is a “ticket redemption night” where any unused tickets from earlier in the season can be redeemed for entry to tomorrow night’s game.
