The Grande Prairie Storm have acquired the playing rights of 2004 Forward Gabriel Filion from the Rockland Nationals of the CCHL in exchange for Future Considerations.
The 5’11” forward is coming off a successful rookie season with the Nationals scoring 11 goals 7 assist for 18 points. His 11 goals were good enough for second in league rookie scoring. Gabriel was named – CCHL Rookie of the Month for February, CCHL Second all-rookie team, CCHL Academic player of the year as well as CCHL Academic high school player of the year.
” Gabriel is a 200ft player that’s hard to play against and he brings compete, speed and skill to our line-up. Gabriel is not only a good athlete but a tremendous student and when you talk about moving on to the next level, having both those traits is a key” noted GM Mark Bomersback.
The Grande Prairie Storm welcomes Gabriel to the team & City of Grande Prairie. Fans can get their first look at Gabriel along with the rest of the Storm when main camp kicks off Friday morning August 26th with the first home exhibition game Tuesday August 30th at 5pm.
