Storm Drop Third In A Row

The Storm's achilles heel this season seems to be the first few minutes of the game, and that was the case again Tuesday as the CGA, as the hometown squad dropped a 5-3 decision to the Lloydminster Bobcats.

The Storm took to the powerplay just 90 seconds into the game, looking for the chance to jump out to an early lead, but instead got a bit of a shock when the visitors scored a shorthanded goal to take a 1-0 lead, and the blue and gold were in catch up mode again.

And catch up they did, with Rory Court tying the game up with a Power Play marker just 40 seconds later. The teams traded goals in the first and the frame ended knotted at 2-2. Dalton Olsen (who was named the game's second star) had the Storm second goal.

A quiet second period saw the Bobcats pull ahead 3-2, but Dylan Thudium tied the game 3-3 with an unassited powerplay marker less than two minutes into the third frame. Then at the 12 minute mark the Bobcats went back on the powerplay, and cashed almost immediatley to take the 4-3 lead, and never looked back despite being outshot by the home team 13-10 in the third,. Lloydminster added an empty net goal and escaped with a 5-3 win.

Next action for the Storm is this Friday Night when the Spruce Grove Saints come to town for a 7:30 start. Game Sponsor Aquatera will be at the CGA with some great stuff, including the return of the Mascot Soccer Game that will take place in the Second Intermission.

Tickets are available at the CGA Box Office.
