Thunder Roll

Playoff hopes for the Grande Prairie Storm took a turn for the worse Wednesday night in Drayton Valley.

In a match-up between the two clubs battling for the final playoff spot in the AJHL North Division, the Storm twice held leads but couldn't hold on, as they fell 3-2 to the Thunder.  Dalton Olsen and Landon Gross gave Grande Prairie a 2-1 lead after the first, but the home side equalized in the second and then scored the game winner midway through the third.

Nick Kulmanovsky was the Storm star player of the night, as he's been quite often the past two seasons.  Kulmanovsky stopping 32 shots, as the Thunder held a 35-20 edge in that department.

The two clubs are now tied for the seventh and final playoff spot in the division.  However, the Thunder enjoy two games in hand on the Storm.

Storm have Thursday night off, before resuming their road trip Friday and Saturday in Bonnyville.  They return to the Canada Games Arena on Friday, January 31st to play host to Spruce Grove.
