MOB Blank Storm

The Grande Prairie Storm received excellent goaltending and a good effort all-round on Wednesday night in Fort McMurray…but ultimately, it still wasn't good enough.

Playing the number one-ranked team Junior A team in all of Canada, the Storm fell 4-0 to the Oil Barons.  Really, it was a much closer game than the score would indicate, too, as the MOB scored twice into an empty net in the final minute of play.

Nick Kulmanovsky was named star of the game for Grande Prairie, blocking 29 of the 31 shots he face.  Storm actually outshoot the hometown Barons on the evening, putting 36 shots on Tanner Jaillet, who was their player of the game.

The Oil Barons have yet to lose in regulation time this season, improving their record to 17-0-1.  Storm fall back to the 500 mark at 8-8-1.

Grande Prairie now has one day off, before playing the Bobcats both Friday and Saturday night in Lloydminster.
