Storm goaltender Curtis Skip spent the last couple of weeks competing at the National Level representing Team Canada West at the World Jr “A” Challenge. This prestigious event was held in Yarmouth Nova Scotia. The gold medal match pitted Canada West against Team USA yesterday on the day which the world pays respect to all of the fallen soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice, so we could enjoy the freedom and way of life which we take for granted each and everyday. The outcome for Team Canada West was not what they hoped for as the fell to Team USA by a score of 6 to 3. As curtis Skip returns home with a Silver Medal we at the Storm organization are very proud that he was selected to participate with Team Canada West and look forward to his return.
The Gande Prairie Storm is currently enjoying an eight game winning streak which has them sitting in second place in the north division trailing Spruce Grove by a 1 point with 4 games in hand.
Next Storm action will be November 16th at the Canada Games Arena when the red hot Brooks Bandits (currently rated number 1 in Canada) visit our city. The Brooks Bandits are currently undefeated in 20 games and the Storm are hoping to adjust that figure on friday night. Puck drops at 7:30 pm Nov 16th at the CGA.
