STORM ACQUIRE FORWARD

The Grande Prairie Storm has added a little size and lots of experience to its forward lines.

The team has acquired 6-foot-1, 190 pound left winger/centre Mike Forsyth.

Forsyth spent 141 games in the Western Hockey League with the Medicine Hat Tigers, Chilliwack Bruins and most recently the Victoria Royals. Last season with the Royals he had three goals and 15 assists.
The Calgary native played his midget hockey with the Flames AAA team before joining the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

He played 56 games in the AJHL with the Camrose Kodiaks in 2009-2010 where he had seven goals and 14 assists.

Forsyth, 20, was acquired from the Kodiaks, who had his AJ rights, for future considerations.

He is expected to be in the lineup when the Storm travel to Spruce Grove for AJHL Showcase games Friday (5 p.m. vs. Canmore Eagles) and Saturday (1:30 p.m. vs. Calgary Canucks).

Meanwhile, forward Ryan Baskerville who was acquired from the Spruce Grove Saints earlier this year, is expected in the city next week. He has been recovering from an injury, but is expected to start practicing with the team soon.
