The Grande Prairie Storm are proud to announce the signing of 2004 born defenceman Damian Palmieri. The Delta , BC product is coming to the Storm from the WHL Vancouver Giants, where he has spent the previous 3 seasons. Damian was a 4th round, 87th overall Bantam pick by the Giants back in 2019. Since then, he has suited up for a total of 129 regular season games with the Giants, scoring 5 goals 11 assist, and racking up 231 penalty minutes. The 6’1 190-pound Palmieri also suited up for 17 playoff games over the 3 seasons, scoring 1 goal and 2 assists. Welcome to the Storm, Damian!
GM Mark Bomersback had this to say in regard to the signing of the veteran blue liner. “Very happy to get Damian signed and add him to our group. He’s a solid veteran that’s going to come in here and fit right in with the strong core and culture we have in place. He’s a physical two-way D that’s hard to play against, has a good skill set that can move pucks, and create offence as well. He’s a good addition for us and we couldn’t be happier.”
Storm Fans can get their first look at Damian this Friday when he makes his debut vs the visiting Canmore Eagles. The puck drops at 12:00pm as it’s the Storm’s annual Hockey Hookey game. Tickets are going fast so don’t wait!
