After the home win on March 14, 2026, the Grande Prairie Storm broke a franchise record for most home wins in a single season. The previous record from 2007-2008 was 23 wins in 31 home games played, and the win against Drayton Valley Thunder gave the Storm their 24th home win in 28 games played.
Head Coach Chris Schmidt said, “Really proud of the guys for the consistency they’ve shown throughout the year. It wasn’t as though we started out the year with this record in sight, but it shows how hard they worked and how focused they were to reach this sort of milestone.”
Executive Director Nicole Menzies added, ” Breaking this record is a huge testament, not only to the hard work of our players and our hockey operations staff, but to our community. Grande Prairie has shown up for the Storm in spades these last two seasons. It’s no surprise to me that the team plays so well at home- with our amazing facility and unbelievable fan support- it’s really special to witness. We’re really grateful for every single fan who shows up to cheer the team on to these home wins!”
The Storm will host the Lloydminster Bobcats at home for Round 1of the Inter Pipeline Cup AJHL Playoffs for games 1 and 2 on Friday, March 20 at 7pm and Saturday, March 21 at 6pm. Tickets are available at Single Game Tickets | City of Grande Prairie
