Storm Sign Local Product Edge Lambert

GRANDE PRAIRIE, AB

June 27, 2019

The Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are proud to announce the signing of 2001 forward Edge Lambert. The 6?2 power forward form Grande Prairie captained the GPAC MAAA team to an impressive 3rd place regular season finish; their highest finish ever in the tight AMHL North Division. Edge lead the GPAC with 21 goals and 14 assists in 33 regular season games. His contributions continued in the playoffs with 4 goals and 4 assists in 8 playoff games.

Head Coach & Assistant General Manager, Matt Keillor has some familiarity with the talented forward:

?Edge played a large role for us offensively with the Bantam AAA team in 2014. Although he was a first-year player on that team, he was a very serviceable player, especially with the strength and maturity in his game. I have watched Edge grow year after year into a complete player. I think playing midget in his final year was great for his development. He played on a strong team with a lot of confidence last year and learned to lead. This will really help his transition into junior hockey next year where he can be comfortable. One thing Edge does extremely well that a lot of players out of midget struggle with is shooting the puck: he doesn?t turn down a chance to shoot. You can?t teach that; he loves to get to the middle of the ice and can beat goalies from outside the dots.?

Edge has been working hard with new Storm Conditioning Coach Jordan McTaggart at Tags Athletic Gym here in Grande Prairie, as he prepares for the season. He is expected to join his new team when main camp opens August 16th. Season tickets are now on sale, come down to the Revolution Place box office to reserve your seats today! The Storm open up at home on September 20th against Lloydminster!
