The Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League have traded (F) Eric Sorensen ('00) to the defending SJHL Champions Nipawin Hawks for future considerations. Sorensen played in 39 regular season contests last year registering 2 goals, 3 assists along with 16 penalty minutes.
Mark Bomersback, General Manager of the Storm feels this will be a great opportunity for Eric:
“Eric needed an opportunity to play a more offensive role. When talking with Nipawin we felt this would be a great fit. The young guys need to play and be played in all situations. With this year’s recruiting class and our returning core, we knew we couldn’t provide the ice he needs to be able to reach his potential. On behalf of the Storm we would like to thank Eric for all his efforts both on the ice and in the community and wish him all the best in Nipawin”.
