The Grande Prairie Storm of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are proud to announce the signing of 19 year old local product Austin Schellenberg. Austin has spent the last 2 seasons playing for the Red Deer Rebels and Winnipeg Ice of the Western Hockey League where he collected 21pts in 120 regular season games.
Storm Head Coach and Associate GM Matt Keillor has some familiarity with the speedy forward:
?I coached Austin in Bantam and Midget AAA, he was a dynamic skater and playmaker. His skating was special and the WHL noticed that early on. Austin will bring a veteran presence and add some offence to our young forward group. He does things at high speed and can make an impact with his compete level. We?re very excited to have him back in a Storm jersey.?
