This past Saturday, the Grande Prairie Storm played their last game for the 2021-22 season at Bonnetts Energy Centre, ending with a 5-0 loss to the 1st place Spruce Grove Saints.
The team finished the season with a record of 22-30-8 which placed them 8th in the North Division and officially eliminated from playoffs.
With 52 points on the season, the Storm will go down as a team with one of the highest point totals and not make the playoffs, showing the overall strength of the North Division this season. Storm fans will be left wondering how this team might have competed in a playoff run with the recent hot streak of 8-1-1 record in the last 10 games of the season.
Ultimately, the Storm finished 3 points out of a playoff spot with a chance to tie the Sherwood Park Crusaders heading into the last weekend of the season.
The organization would like to thank the players for their dedication and hard work this season. The team competed to the last seconds of the game on Saturday in front of a full capacity attendance (under the AHS Restrictions) for the final game.
Also a huge thank you to all the STORM fans, we look forward to a more normal season in 2022-23 and are already hard at work preparing to come back stronger and better than ever.
GO STORM GO !
