Trade Deadline Day Recap

The Grande Prairie Storm made a couple of roster moves on the January 10th Trade deadline GM Mark Bomersback Announced.

The First Deal saw 2004 Forward Cyprus Smith- Davis come from the SJHL Notre Dame Hounds in exchange for a player development fee. “ With the departure of Marinkovic and the injury to Zach Wilson we needed to add some forward help / depth to our line up and Cyprus brings a-little of everything. He can play up and down your line up center or Wing , Kill penalties , play on your Power play. He’s a tremendous kid who was an assistant captain in ND and we look for him to come here and not only help with our teams play on the ice but also keep the culture strong off the ice.” Commented GM Mark Bomersback

The second Deal of the day saw 2005 winger Spencer Hughes be acquired from the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL in exchange for 2005 RD Oakley Mcilwain. “ With Spencer we are getting a speedy winger with good skill and a quick shot / release. He’s an offensive minded player who will help with the offensive side of our game. Another tremendous kid that is eager to come here and help the team. says Bomersback

The Last and final deal of the day saw forwards  Eliott Mikesch and Gaborik Carlson be moved to the Melville Millionaires of the SJHL for a Player Development fee and a future player.

We would like to thank  Eliott , Gaborik and Oakley for their contributions to the organization and wish them best of luck in their future endeavors.
